NTOMBI'S STORY

Ntombi has a tumour of the left auxiliary Sinus which has grown to engulf at least two thirds of her face. Although the tumour is benign it reoccurs regularly - even after extensive surgical re-sectioning. Her tumour has grown to a point where it extends into areas of her skull which are difficult to reach surgically without damaging vital structures. Due to the advance stage of her tumour, Ntombi is unable to study or work and requires daily assistance.

HER PACKAGE: HOW WE HAVE HELPED

HEALTHCARE

Due to the lack of available assistance in Ntombi's area, she has to travel to capital cities in order to get treatment. We have funded her travel expenses and contributed towards her health bills.

REBUILDING CONFIDENCE

We have aimed to help Ntombi rebuild her confidence by providing her with a new wardrobe of shoes and clothes. We hope that this can be the first step in helping her feel more confident and ready to shine for the world.

SUPPORT

Social stigma and judgement from people in her area has lead to Ntombi resorting to staying in doors without much social communication. We have assigned a support group for Ntombi where she can communicate with other young women via whatsapp so she knows she is not alone.
